As a photographer, I always strive to create something unique and memorable for my clients. So when Veronika, a young Ukrainian actress who had lived in London and now studies in Rome, approached me to take some new shots in Milan, I was excited about the challenge.
Veronika had already modeled, but her true passion was acting. I saw an opportunity to use her features to create something truly different – a black and white project with a vintage vibe that I love. I wanted to capture her essence and bring out her individuality.
For this project, I teamed up with Francesca, a makeup artist, and together we envisioned a mood board centered around strange and wild poses, combined with a newspaper. The story was about a foreign girl, who was reading the New York Times, out of time and place, living in Milan with ease and a touch of madness.
To bring this vision to life, Francesca gave Veronika a larger-than-life look while keeping her makeup natural. We shot both digitally and on film, and the results were stunning. Veronika’s unique features and the black and white vintage aesthetic made for truly memorable photos that captured her individuality and spirit.
The shoot was a wild and fun experience, and I am thrilled with the final product. Veronika was a natural in front of the camera, and her energy and playfulness shone through in each and every shot. These photos are a testament to the power of collaboration and the beauty that can be achieved when creativity is given free rein.
